What to do if you have just been assaulted.

Even if you don’t want to involve the police we can still collect evidence that would support a prosecution if you change your mind. We appreciate that it is very hard to make decisions immediately after a trauma and we will support you to keep you options open until you feel better able to make a decision. To collect the best evidence we would ask you to follow these rules.
  • Try not to wash
  • Do not clean your teeth
  • Do not change your clothes
  • Do not have a cigarette
  • Do not eat or drink
  • Try not to go to the toilet
  • Do not clean up the area where you were assaulted
  • Write down everything you remember about the assault and events leading up to it.
